Purpose

Yoga means to join. And to join is to heal.

The Avita Yoga Teacher Training combines practical movement, therapeutic application, breathwork, and embodied awareness to support joint health, greater mobility, and peaceful self-awareness.

What to expect

You will learn how to use movements and shapes—not poses—to access restricted joints and tissues with greater awareness and precision.

With time, kind compression, movement, and breath, you will explore how to reduce compensation patterns, improve mobility, and discover what Avita Yoga calls healing sensation: a constructive, sustainable experience that supports change within the body and nervous system with time and practice

As your own understanding deepens, you will learn how to guide students in a safe, adaptable, and responsive way.

For many students, this process supports greater comfort, freedom of movement, confidence, and a deeper sense of connection to themselves.

Style/Lineage

Avita Yoga has roots in the work of Ida Rolf, whose study of yoga informed the development of Structural Integration.

Over time, Avita Yoga has evolved through the practical application of anatomical, physiological, and movement-based principles that use time, pressure, breath, and thoughtful movement to influence the fascial network, support joint function, strengthen bones, and improve neuromuscular coordination.

The method emphasizes adaptability, awareness, and sustainable change rather than performance or force.

Additional Information

There are no prerequisites for this training.

In many ways, the less conditioned you are by conventional yoga models, the easier it may be to experience Avita Yoga with fresh eyes and genuine curiosity.

For those with a strong yoga background, this training may feel like a meaningful reexamination of many common assumptions about movement, flexibility, and alignment.

In Avita Yoga, we do not use poses as performances to perfect. We use movements and shapes to generate awareness, constructive sensation, adaptability, and meaningful feedback from within.

Program Emphasis

Evaluation methods

Program evaluations
  • Written exam
  • Teaching evaluation

The reason we test is to inspire learning. There are five written quizzes throughout the program. Students practice teaching from the beginning and receive feedback from Jeff throughout the program. The goal is to learn how to conduct private and semi-private sessions, both online via Zoom and in-person. It's very focused because private teaching skills are easily generalized to larger groups.
