The YogaSix 300 Hour Yoga Teacher Training consists of 9 modules, that are divided into three sections. As all cycles, or vinyasas, have a beginning, a middle, and an end, so does our program. Space is extremely limited. See the list of 300-hour programs available below.

Additional Information

Core competencies

By the end of this program, graduates will be able to…

Yoga History & Theory
  • Explain how Tantra's view of enlightenment differs from the classical Patanjali model and how this distinction shapes the YogaSix approach to teaching and practice
  • Explain the distinction between the classical view of the eight limbs as a linear path to samadhi and the Tantric view of them as simultaneous, interwoven practices.
  • Evaluate the relationship between dharma and career direction for a yoga teacher, using the concept of dharma to assess alignment between values, calling, and professional choices.
  • Develop a journaling or self-inquiry protocol for advanced students that uses the nine obstacles and limiting belief framework to support meaningful off-mat integration.
Anatomy, Physiology, Biomechanics
  • Apply body-reading skills in real time during a Vinyasa class, using assessment postures in the first fifteen minutes to observe students and adapt sequencing accordingly.
  • Evaluate a peer-designed sequence for the quality and appropriateness of its prep and counter pose selection relative to the stated peak posture.
Practice Skills
  • Evaluate the philosophical tension between rigid methodological approaches and the Tantric values of diversity, inquiry, and individual expression in yoga teaching.
  • Analyze the physiological rationale for prenatal modifications—including open twists, prop use, wider stances, and supported positions—and determine when each applies.
  • Analyze the relationship between Challenge Pose development and a teacher's depth of anatomical understanding, breaking down the pose into its component muscle actions and joint positions.
  • Analyze the difference between movement meditation—where inquiry cues invoke present-moment awareness during asana—and seated meditation, and describe how each serves student development.
Teaching Skills
  • Evaluate a peer-designed advanced class for structural integrity, thematic depth, posture logic, and alignment with YogaSix methodology.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of inquiry cues in cultivating student self-awareness, using observable indicators such as breath quality, movement responsiveness, and reading bodies.
  • Create a Concept Class 3 plan—a full sixty-minute practice—that reflects the full scope of competencies developed across all three phases of the training.
  • Develop a visual support strategy for a class plan that includes planned demo moments, designated mirroring cues, and embodied gestures paired with key alignment instructions.
  • Evaluate the cultural and relational implications of a teacher-as-authority model versus a teacher-as-guide model, connecting each approach to American Yoga Council ethical standards.
  • Analyze the relationship between a teacher's vocal quality—tone, pace, resonance, and dynamic range—and the energetic container created for students during a Vinyasa class.
Lifestyle & Ethics
  • Apply Ayurvedic dosha awareness to personal self-care planning, selecting practices, foods, and rhythms most likely to restore balance based on one's constitution.
  • Develop a personal leadership and ethics statement that integrates conscious communication principles, professional accountability, and the program's Phase 3 vision of aligned, purposeful teaching.
Business Skills
  • Evaluate a teacher's current professional narrative—website bio, social presence, teaching description—for authenticity, clarity, and alignment with stated values and goals.
  • Explain the solution-oriented journaling and critical thinking frameworks taught in the program and describe how each supports creative problem-solving in both teaching and business contexts.

AYC allows each school to state and evaluate the competencies each student acquires. Students rate how well the program delivered them.
