Purpose

We integrate Hatha and Vinyasa Yoga, Tantra, Yoga Therapy, Ayurveda, Meditation, Bhakti, Anatomy, and one-on-one work. Students mentor with some of the most recognized guest and faculty teachers in the field.

What to expect

Transformative and geared towards true positive growth, development and self-mastery, our training aims to help bring out the best qualities in YOU. Devanadi’s 340 hour yoga teacher training and intensive teaches a synthesis of yoga styles with an emphasis on asana, bandha, mudra, pranayama, and meditation, as well as a rich study of yoga philosophy, history and lineage. The faculty and guest teachers have studied in the traditions of Tantric Hatha Yoga, Yoga Therapy, Ayurveda, Ashtanga, Vinyasa Flow, Iyengar, and energy medicine, as well as a variety of meditation styles.

When one finds balance within through time-tested yoga, tantric and Ayurvedic approaches and techniques, your teaching and your character flow effortlessly as we step into our lives with Kriya Shakti, or the power of perfect action, thought and speech – spontaneously doing, thinking and saying the right thing at the right time. We love yoga!

Teaching Skills
  • Develop your own approach to yoga instruction, spiritual guidance, and student transformation, while honoring and respecting the Sacred River lineages of Ayurveda, Yoga Therapy, and the Himalayan tradition.
  • Assess your trauma-informed practice for effectiveness by reviewing your approach to consent culture, language choices, and boundary awareness.
  • Design a chair yoga class that considers the physical and cognitive changes of aging and how it affects a student's yoga practice, adapting poses, sequencing options, various props, and breathing exercises across a diverse group of participants with varying abilities.
Anatomy, Physiology, Biomechanics
  • Design a class sequence that intentionally moves through all five prana vayus and acknowledging the koshas to create a therapeutic, spiritual, and balanced experience.
  • Design a dosha-balancing yoga class with asana, pranayama, and meditation that is tailored to a specific Ayurvedic constitution, season, time of life, and state of balance/inbalance.
  • Design a progressive series of poses that safely builds toward a challenging peak posture using sound biomechanical and energetic principles.
Practice Skills
  • Create a full advanced yoga class plan that integrates asana, pranayama, and meditation into a cohesive and intentional sequence.
  • Select and sequence pranayama techniques that support a class intention based on Ayurvedic dosha, time of day, or student energy level.
  • Design a Tantric Hatha sequence that weaves bandha, mudra, and pranayama together to build toward a sustained meditative state.
  • Design a complete meditation module for an advanced yoga class that moves from body awareness through breath and into sustained stillness.
  • Guide a Yoga Nidra practice that moves through the traditional stages that includes a tailored sankalpa, progressive relaxation, clear breath tools, and visualization.
  • Design a yoga class using Ayurvedic sequencing principles that addresses a specific dosha imbalance, Vayus, and Gunas through asana, pranayama, and theme.
  • Design a one-on-one yoga therapy session plan for a student with a specific physical or emotional need using Viniyoga and Ayurvedic tools.

AYC allows each school to state and evaluate the competencies each student acquires. Students rate how well the program delivered them.
