Purpose

This training is for anyone in a transition, or desiring to make a transition and could benefit from support; yogis with a wish to become stronger, more accurate with alignment and knowledgable of the practices

What to expect

An Introduction to Vinyasa Yoga: What is it and where did it come from?

Principles of Alignment: Learn the basic building blocks of alignment and how to apply them to every pose.

Living your Yoga (Yoga Philosophy). Infuse these yogic principles into your life and watch daily life transform.

Meditation and Breath: Why are these so important in yoga?

Yoga Anatomy & Physiology: practical, valuable information about what's happening in the yoga postures on a physical level, and energetic level.

Transformational Teaching Skills: Uncover your voice. Almost everyone has a fear of teaching. You'll overcome this fear once you have knowledge, a plan, and practice.

Principles of Sequencing: Get a look behind the scenes. There is an art to designing an effective yoga class. You'll master this.

Sessions meet live online or in-person on Monday evenings from 5:30 - 8:00pm, plus additional pre-recorded material, one additional yoga class per week and include yoga practice, meditation, and a deep dive into the wisdom teachings. All sessions will be recorded and made available.

Style/Lineage

Yoga Teacher Training is a structured, evolutionary course that every single time we run it, we are in awe the growth, love and energy demonstrated by the participants.

Each Teacher Training cohort turns out to be a magical alchemy of humans who compliment each other and the place each one is on in their individual life path so beautifully.

If you feel drawn to Yoga Teacher Training, say yes as fast as possible. Every participant exclaims, “I wish I would have done this earlier”.

Before teacher training, there is a curiosity of diving deeper into oneself and the knowledge of yoga postures and philosophy. After teacher training, there is a newfound confidence in self and a deep connection that can only be found in heartfelt community.

  • Describe anatomy and biomechanics by explaining how yoga practices affect body systems, analyzing structural differences and contraindications, and demonstrating the ability to modify poses functionally rather than aesthetically
  • Describe the major body systems—including the nervous, respiratory, cardiovascular, and digestive systems— by explaining their basic structure, primary functions, and relevance to movement, breath, and regulation within yoga practice
  • Describe the anatomy and biomechanics of the upper body, lower body, spine, and major body systems using clear, accurate, and accessible language relevant to yoga practice
  • Discuss the respiratory system and mechanics of breathing in yoga practice including the mechanics of respiration, the role of the diaphragm, intercostal muscles, and accessory breathing muscles, and how breath affects the nervous system
Yoga History & Theory

Evaluation methods

Program evaluations
ASSESSMENT METHODS FOR YTT200 Written Assignments Trainees complete written assignments covering anatomy, yoga history, philosophy, and the eight-limbed path framework. Journal Portfolio Journaling runs the length of the training, reflecting trainees' daily practice, weekly foundational class experiences, readings, and electives. Written reflections are completed within the journal itself, tracking integration and growth across the full program. Practice Teaching Trainees practice teaching with peers throughout the training, developing cueing, pacing, presence, and the ability to hold space. Live Teaching Demonstration As a capstone experience, trainees co-teach an entire public yoga class together, demonstrating their readiness to teach in a real-world setting. Elective Exploration Trainees attend classes across diverse yoga lineages or specialty styles and share a verbal summary with the group on what they learned and experienced. SEVA Project Trainees submit a written plan for their SEVA class and follow up with a verbal outcome shared with the group. Peer Review At the close of the training, trainees participate in a peer review of their requirement tracking sheets, supporting collective accountability and celebrating individual progress.
