Purpose
A six-month study with a group of dedicated students who are ready to delve more deeply into the principles and traditions of Yoga. This is a perfect course for anyone who wishes to soak up yogic wisdom or become an example of leadership in their field.
What to expect
A course that includes courageous personal reflection that allows the highest version of yourself to shine through, and your best life to emerge. Each weekend we will study one of five virtues: gratitude, forgiveness, honesty, kindness, and humility. During the sixth weekend, you will create a personal code of conduct in order to live your Yoga each day. You will be required to read one book for each meeting and home practices will be given should you choose to get the most out of your experience.
Each weekend includes:
1.5 hour asana practice
guided meditation session
group reflection through guided discussions
personal reflection through focused journal questions
Style/Lineage
Greenville Yoga is a sanctuary that allows open-hearted seekers (even those who struggle with physical aches / pains, isolation, anxiety, and fear) to slow down, be seen and find belonging in themselves and in community. Through the gift of community and inspiration of our teacher-leaders, our classes will regulate your nervous system so you can connect with that still, quiet space within. This connection allows us to collectively wake up and dream a new way to be in the world: one kind human at a time.

Program evaluations
During the course, we teach foundational breathing and poses as an access point to self-inquiry. Throughout the course, Liz walks around and guides each student to find the best shapes for their anatomical structure and support them with props or alternate poses as needed. The breathing and yoga poses are assessed via direct observation. Following the course, there is an optional written component for self-reflection that can be turned in to continue our conversations and assess where students are when they leave. (I tried to upload written assessment several times and it keeps saying it failed.)
