Practice Skills
  • Identify the four guiding principles of the sacred seeds vinyasa flow describing principles of strengthening, accessibility, emotional anatomy, and breath
  • Demonstrate the poses included in thread one (split salutation, sun salutation a, jacqui's b salutation) and the 1st chakra (muladhara) they address with proper alignment, modifications and prop usages appropriate for individual bodies
  • Explain how coordinating breath with movement organizes the nervous system and integrates the mental, emotional, and physical bodies
  • Demonstrate breath-synchronized cueing across all eight threads with appropriate inhale/exhale pairing for each transition
  • Identify the restorative options within the sacred seeds curriculum (viparita karani, savasana, and passive restorative variations)
Teaching Skills
  • Demonstrate clear verbal cues that guide students safely into and out of foundational poses
  • Instruct students through sun salutation a and jacqui's salutation b with emphasis on foot, ankle, and leg stability
  • Lead students through seated forward bends and side bends with cues that lengthen muscles activated during backbending
  • Describe the physiological and energetic importance of savasana as the final integration of all prior threads
  • Identify the standard modifications offered for key poses in each thread (blocks, blankets, chairs, wall support)
  • Deliver precise alignment cues for poses in each thread using anatomically accurate, accessible language
  • Guide students through restorative poses with appropriate prop use and unhurried verbal facilitation
  • Design construct a complete 60–75 minute sacred seeds class following the correct thread order with appropriate pacing
Anatomy, Physiology, Biomechanics
  • Identify the joints and peripheral points targeted in the awakening sequence
  • Identify the six foundational functional movement patterns: squatting, hip hinging, stepping, lunging, shoulder/hip mobility, and rotary stability
  • Explain how the kinetic chain connects peripheral points (hands and feet) to central structures (spine, hips, core)
  • Identify the common postural deviations addressed in the sacred seeds curriculum (collapsing shoulder, head jutting, hip hiking, rounding spine, knee beyond toe)
  • Apply specific verbal cues and hands-on guidance that address postural deviations in foundational yoga poses
  • Explain the physiological benefits of restorative yoga for nervous system recovery and tissue release
Yoga History & Theory
  • Identify the seven chakras, their sanskrit names, locations, and associated threads in the sacred seeds flow
  • Explain how the chakra system maps onto the physical, emotional, and energetic layers of the body
Lifestyle & Ethics
  • Explain the ethical responsibilities of teaching accessible yoga to a general population, including trauma-informed considerations
Business Skills
  • Identify identify the core components of building a sustainable yoga teaching practice aligned with the sacred seeds methodology

AYC allows each school to state and evaluate the competencies each student acquires. Students rate how well the program delivered them.
