Purpose
The purpose of Korsi Yoga Teacher Training is to develop knowledgeable, confident, and adaptable yoga teachers with a strong foundation in the history, philosophy, anatomy, and practice of yoga. Through the study of asana, intelligent sequencing, pranayama, meditation, Ayurveda, and teaching methodology, trainees learn to understand not only what to teach, but why they are teaching it. The program encourages each student to develop an authentic teaching voice while gaining the skills to create safe, purposeful, and inclusive practices that respond to the students in front of them.
What to expect
Expect an immersive and highly experiential training that combines personal practice, study, discussion, observation, and hands on teaching experience. Trainees will explore asana, anatomy, sequencing, yoga philosophy, pranayama, meditation, Ayurveda, and the art of teaching while learning how these elements come together in a complete yoga practice. Throughout the program, students will practice teaching, receive constructive feedback, refine their communication and cueing skills, and develop the confidence to lead a class. The training is both an exploration of yoga and a process of discovering who you are as a teacher.
Style/Lineage
Korsi Yoga Teacher Training is rooted in more than three decades of yoga practice and study, drawing from multiple traditions to create an intelligent, inclusive, and evolving approach to modern yoga. The training is grounded in classical Hatha Yoga and shaped by extensive study of Vinyasa, Bikram and hot yoga, Yin, Restorative Yoga, pranayama, meditation, and mindfulness based practices.
At the center of the program is Korsi’s approach to purposeful sequencing. Students learn to understand not only individual postures, but how movement, breath, anatomy, transitions, and energetic intention work together to create a complete experience. Rather than teaching a single prescribed style, Korsi develops teachers who can think critically, sequence intelligently, adapt to the students in front of them, and ultimately discover an authentic teaching voice of their own.
The philosophical foundation of the training explores the Yoga Sutras, the Eight Limbs of Yoga, the Bhagavad Gita, Ayurveda, the subtle body, and the historical evolution of yoga, connecting ancient teachings with contemporary life. The program emphasizes that yoga is more than asana. It is a practice of awareness, inquiry, presence, and relationship with ourselves and the world around us.
Korsi trains teachers not simply to teach poses, but to understand why they are teaching what they are teaching, and to develop the knowledge, confidence, and presence to make the practice their own.
