Purpose
To develop knowledgeable, compassionate yoga teachers who lead with integrity, inclusivity and genuine depth, rooted in personal practice and equipped with the philosophy, anatomy, sequencing skill and ethical grounding to hold space for every student who walks through the door.
What to expect
Across twenty weekends, ten personal, ten professional, you will move, study, discuss, teach, reflect and grow in equal measure.
In the studio you will live inside a real class from the ground up, exploring every section of the Rhoswyn class arc through your own body before you ever consider teaching it to someone else. You will build sun salutations brick by brick, sequence ladders toward peak poses, hold long yin shapes, and rest in extended savasana, all while understanding what is happening anatomically, energetically and philosophically in each moment.
Outside the physical practice you will study Patanjali's Yoga Sutras and the Bhagavad Gita as living texts rather than historical documents. You will explore all seven chakras, learn to work with the breath as a teaching tool, and develop a personal meditation practice spanning body scan, breath awareness and yoga nidra.
In the Teacher Extension you will learn to sequence with intelligence and teach with precision, developing your cueing voice, practicing hands-on adjustments with consent, and designing themed classes that hold meaning as well as movement. Weekly online sessions keep the cohort connected between weekends, with structured teach-backs, ethics discussions and peer feedback that build your confidence incrementally toward the final assessed class.
You will also study the professional landscape honestly, ethics, scope of practice, safeguarding, pricing, insurance and marketing, so that graduation feels like a genuine beginning rather than just a certificate.
Throughout, the approach is trauma-aware, non-dogmatic and deeply inclusive. You will be challenged, supported and surprised by what you discover.
Style/Lineage
Yoga, to us, is the practice of paying attention. To the breath, to the body, to the fluctuations of the mind, and to the quiet that lives beneath all of it. It is simultaneously an ancient wisdom tradition, a precise physical discipline, and one of the most practical tools available for navigating a full human life.
At Rhoswyn we teach a hybrid flow style: breath-linked, intelligently sequenced, and structured around a consistent eight-section class arc that moves from Integration through to Savasana. This arc gives students a reliable internal map of the practice, so that over time the structure becomes second nature and genuine exploration becomes possible within it.
Our style is deliberately non-dogmatic. We draw from the Krishnamacharya lineage, and we root our philosophical teaching in Patanjali's Yoga Sutras and the Bhagavad Gita, held not as doctrine but as living inquiry. We work with the chakra system and the kosha model as frameworks for self-understanding, and we bring pranayama into every practice as a teacher in its own right rather than an afterthought.
Throughout, we use invitational language, honour individual anatomical variation, and create environments where students feel genuinely safe to arrive as they are. We believe that depth and accessibility are not in conflict, that the most rigorous yoga is also the most welcoming.
We train people not to perform yoga, but to inhabit it. Not to teach from a script, but from a practice that is genuinely their own.

Students are encouraged to maintain a regular personal yoga practice between weekends and to attend classes at Rhoswyn or elsewhere throughout the training. Recommended reading materials will be provided at the start of the program. No specialist equipment is required beyond comfortable practice clothing and a yoga mat, though blocks, a strap and a bolster are recommended.
Weekly Wednesday evening online sessions (7:00 to 8:30pm) are delivered via Zoom from Jan-Mar 2027 and form a core part of the program. A reliable internet connection and a device with camera and microphone are required for full participation.
