Additional Information

Core competencies

By the end of this program, graduates will be able to…

Yoga History & Theory
  • Apply Bhakti pillar values to class language, personal conduct, and student interactions so that devotional principles are consistently reflected in professional teaching practice
  • Describe the hypnagogic state targeted by Yoga Nidra and explain its neurological and therapeutic significance for populations experiencing stress, PTSD, and insomnia
  • Identify the five Koshas and their corresponding purification practices as described in the Level 2 subtle body curriculum
  • Explain the qualities, seasonal associations, and psychophysical characteristics of each Dosha and Guna so that students understand how these forces influence health and behavior
Anatomy, Physiology, Biomechanics
  • Explain the structural and functional differences between connective tissue types and describe how aging affects hydration, contracture risk, and regenerative capacity relevant to yoga practice
  • Apply parasympathetic activation techniques—including Sama Vritti breath, vagus nerve stimulation, and slow movement—within a class setting to guide students from arousal toward rest and recovery
  • Identify the twelve main meridian pairs from Traditional Chinese Medicine, their associated organ systems, and corresponding Yin yoga poses as presented in the Level 2 curriculum
Business Skills
  • Develop a professional teaching profile including a clear niche statement, bio, class description, and rate structure appropriate to local and digital markets served by a Level 2 certified teacher
Lifestyle & Ethics
  • Apply ethical guidelines by reflecting on personal teaching scenarios and selecting responses that honor student safety, cultural respect, and professional accountability aligned with Level 2 standards
Practice Skills
  • Demonstrate a backbending sequence that progresses from preparatory poses to a peak backbend, applying correct engagement cues and breath-linked entry and exit for a class of diverse bodies
  • Demonstrate a grounded seated sequence that transitions students from the dynamic energy of standing practice toward stillness using appropriate prop suggestions and breath adjustments
  • Demonstrate a supported inversion safely using correct foundational alignment and providing clear verbal and physical assists that allow students of varying ability to access the posture
  • Apply spinal rotation principles when cueing both standing and seated twists so that students maintain spinal length and breath-coordinated deepening throughout the rotation
  • Demonstrate a series of balance poses progressing from foundational to more challenging variations by providing clear instruction on gaze point, grounding action, and limb stacking
  • Describe the four components of pranayama breath, the three main nadis, and the physiological and energetic effects of each technique including their associated Vayus and nervous system impact
  • Describe the philosophical basis of Yin yoga within Taoist thought, explaining the complementary nature of Yin and Yang qualities and how passive long-held shapes differ from dynamic muscular practice
  • Sequence a standing series for a mixed-level class by analyzing physical preparation requirements for a chosen peak pose and selecting preparatory postures that address hip flexibility, spinal mobility, and leg strength
Teaching Skills
  • Facilitate a complete yoga class following the Level 2 class architecture roadmap, demonstrating effective transitions between phases, appropriate timing, and sustained thematic coherence throughout
  • Demonstrate the use of affirming, anatomically clear, and spiritually resonant language during class instruction while maintaining a consistent energetic presence that models the pillars of teaching
  • Teach a complete yoga class incorporating grounding, heat-building, a peak pose, cooling seated postures, and a closing practice while maintaining clear thematic intention from opening to close
