Purpose

This robust and intimate 300-hour advanced program is designed to help you free your teaching voice, integrate your core teaching skills, and support your personal development - so that you can teach with confidence, presence, and authenticity.

What to expect

This 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training is designed to support teachers to step into their power, authenticity and presence. We build upon and integrate the skills learned in a 200-hour program so that teachers gain confidence in their ability to teach skillfully and specifically. Although new learning material will certainly be introduced, our primary goal is to support teachers to solidly and integrate essential skills in sequencing, cueing, anatomical applications, as well as to help them develop their unique voice and teaching presence. The program also supports teachers to “walk their talk” and strengthens their ability to uphold their personal and professional integrity.

Style/Lineage

The methodology for this training draws its inspiration from the Krishnamacharya lineage, and seeks to incorporate teaching tools derived from both the Iyengar and Ashtanga styles. From the Iyengar style, we seek to honor: ~ A high regard for functional alignment; ~ Recognition of the diversity and individuality of the body; ~ The use of props to support and enliven the expression of the pose; ~ Clear and sensible sequencing. From the Ashtanga style, we seek to honor: ~ The use of the practice as a moving meditation; ~ The use of ujjayi as a tool for mindfulness and focus; ~ The incorporation of sun salutations and vinyasa to create a flow style practice. From the evolution of our contemporary awareness: ~ Teach with inclusivity, accessibility, and body positivity in mind; ~ Prepare students for a hybrid teaching world (teaching both in person as well as online). ~ Engender an appreciation and commitment for upholding the scope of a yoga teacher’s professional and ethical role, which includes the capacity to articulate and embody one’s personal values as well as uphold them with a wholesome rigor to be of greater service in the world.
