Purpose

Our school and method have a reputation for rigor, studiousness, efficacy, and precision — qualities that are rare in today's world of quick fixes and instant gratification. Immerse in a world where critical thinking and perseverance are valued and gain skills to make a powerful difference in your student's lives. Our aim is to help you be qualified, adept, and versatile as a yoga teacher.

What to expect

xpect an 8-month deep dive that takes you from 200-hour graduate to 500-hour certified teacher and leader, led by Amy Ippoliti with 25+ years of training experience behind her.

The training moves through six pillars: refined technique (asana, alignment, pranayama, meditation), teaching methodology (sequencing, hands-on assists, dharma talks), yoga philosophy (texts, Sanskrit, lifestyle and ethics), therapeutics (anatomy, injuries, longevity, special populations), professional essentials (marketing, income streams, curriculum design), and humanities (equity, social justice, seva).

Structure blends self-paced learning (video, audio, reading, roughly 2-3.5 hours a week) with twice-monthly live mentorship and Q&A with Amy, plus a private community chat for ongoing support between sessions. Two optional in-person or livestreamed intensives give students the chance to practice-teach and connect face to face.

What sets it apart: a genuine community of teachers giving and receiving feedback together, mentorship that continues between live sessions, and a curriculum designed to graduate teachers who are not just skilled on the mat but equipped to lead, think critically, and build sustainable careers. Graduates leave as change-makers, in the yoga world and beyond.

Style/Lineage

Alignment-based Vinyasa with a therapeutic lens; precise, intelligent sequencing designed to build strength and resilience in the body, paired with a philosophy centered on skillful living and practicing in community.

Core competencies

By the end of this program, graduates will be able to…

Teaching Skills
  • Use targeted exercises to teach an alignment principle to students, keeping each exercise simple, safe, and clearly linked to the principle.
  • Differentiate supportive, directional, and deepening adjustments across varied body types, citing specific alignment cues as evidence for each choice.
  • List the stages of the therapeutic process in yoga, from client interview through assessment, alignment plan, and client practices, defining each stage accurately, and develop an individualized alignment plan and home practice for a client, ensuring every recommendation is safe, specific, and within scope of practice.
  • Identify postures that commonly cause strain, such as cobra, pigeon, triangle, downward dog, and chaturanga, naming the typical alignment risk in each, and assess which modification best serves a student, justifying the choice with sound anatomical reasoning.
  • Identify general sequencing templates and the families of postures, naming the preparatory role each family plays toward an apex pose accurately.
  • Identify the components of an alignment-based class plan and a vinyasa class plan, and explain how a single class plan differs from a multi-week curriculum, describing how each supports student progress with clear reasoning.
  • Define and apply active and passive language, giving accurate examples of each, explaining why active language and precise directionals improve student understanding, using active verbs and purposeful adverbs, keeping instructions concise, clear, and easy to follow.
  • Observe students in postures from varied angles, both in person and on screen, noting alignment patterns accurately and consistently, centered on student safety.
  • Assess which type of demonstration best serves a given teaching moment, justifying the choice by student level, setting, and objective. Demonstrate a posture using a structured demonstration formula, keeping the demonstration visible, sequential, and matched to the verbal instruction.
  • Explain how a virtue or theme can be mapped to physical alignment actions, using clear examples that connect inner intention to outer form, and use heart language, stories, and anecdotes to interweave a theme with alignment instruction, keeping the theme consistent from opening to closing.
  • Identify the key considerations for teaching pranayama, including preparatory asana, seat, and pacing, naming the purpose of each accurately.
  • Compare approaches to guiding meditation, distinguishing how each supports different student needs with specific examples, and demonstrate guiding a meditation with clear instructions and appropriate silence, keeping the tone steady and the pacing consistent.

  • Distinguish situations that fall within a yoga teacher's scope from those that require another professional, supporting each judgment with clear reasoning.
  • Define seva, contribution, and civic engagement as they relate to teaching yoga, identifying examples of each accurately.
Practice Skills
  • Practice asana regularly with attention to alignment and breath, sustaining steady effort and safe form throughout each session.
  • Practice finding a stable, comfortable seat and engaging each bandha with control, maintaining ease in the breath throughout.
