Aadil Palkhivala is a Yoga-Asana expert, Certified Yoga Therapist-IAYT, Co-founder of Purna Yoga® College & Co-Director of Alive & Shine®.
Aadil is the protégée of grand-master B.K.S. Iyengar, whose teachings form the foundation of most yoga taught today. Aadil's entire family studied yoga with Iyengar, and Aadil started at the age of 7. Practicing regularly for over 8 hours a day, Aadil was the youngest person to be awarded the Advanced Yoga Teacher’s Certificate from Iyengar at the age of 22. He has been training yoga teachers in India, Asia, Europe and the United States since 1976. With degrees in law, physics and mathematics, Aadil is one of the world’s top yoga teachers and, for over 45 years, has had the reputation as the “teacher of teachers,” since the world’s finest teachers study with him.
He is the author of Fire of Love: for Students of Life, for Teachers of Yoga, a book that seeks to restore the essence of yoga, as well as the book that teaches how to strengthen the eyes, SuperVision. He has also co-authored five Teacher Training manuals with Savitri who is the creator of Heartfull® Meditation, which are used in beginning, intermediate, and therapeutic teacher trainings. In addition, Aadil has taught and lectured worldwide including Yoga Journal Conferences, Omega Institute, The Himalayan Institute, Yoga International, Asia Yoga Conference and Cologne Yoga Conference. He has written extensively for Yoga Journal, developed and taught the first year-long Teacher Training at YogaWorks, and was a founder of Yoga Alliance (fka Unity in Yoga) in its budding years.
