Amanda Bell

Amanda teaches Power Yoga, Hot 26, Yin, Fusion flows, Yoga HIIT, and Ashtanga, blending strength, breath, and mindful mobility in every class. She brings in nervous-system–focused mindfulness, clear instruction and intentional breath techniques to her classes.

Amanda Bell (ERYT-500) is the owner of Bend and Zen Hot Yoga Nashville and has been practicing yoga for 17 years and teaching for 14. A proud military brat, arm-balance enthusiast, and former marathon runner, Amanda brings a blend of strength, accessibility, and heart to every class she teaches.

Her training spans both traditional and modern lineages. She completed her 200-hour Ashtanga certification at the Samyak Institute of Yoga & Ayurveda in Mysore, India, and later earned her 300-hour certification through My Vinyasa Practice in Austin, Texas. Amanda now leads a thriving yoga community in Nashville, offering thoughtfully crafted classes, workshops, retreats, and teacher trainings that emphasize connection, inclusivity, and personal growth.

Amanda has taught at major festivals including Deep Tropic Music & Arts Festival, Voyage to the Caverns Music Festival, and The Music City Yoga Festival—where she led a class of more than 200 students. She has also been hired to teach yoga internationally, most recently at a Kite Boarding Retreat in Egypt.

Yoga has been a profoundly healing force in Amanda’s life, helping her navigate panic attacks, recover from an eating disorder, and develop a sustainable, joyful relationship with movement. Because of this, her teaching is grounded in nervous system awareness, breathwork, and the belief that yoga should meet people exactly where they are.

Her philosophy is simple: when we set aside ego, release comparison, and stop forcing our bodies into shapes they're not ready for, the real work—and real transformation—begins.

Current influences

My teaching is influenced by a blend of yoga philosophy, modern movement science, and nervous-system–based mindfulness. Teachers and authors like Pema Chödrön, Donna Farhi, and Leslie Kaminoff have shaped my understanding of presence, breath, and functional alignment, while creators such as Andrew Huberman and Dr. Peter Levine have deepened my approach to breathwork, stress regulation, and somatic awareness. I’m also inspired by strength training and functional movement leaders like Dr. Kelly Starrett and Bret Contreras, whose work informs the mobility and strength-focused aspects of my classes. Ultimately, I’m guided by the belief that movement, breath, and awareness are powerful tools for healing, resilience, and self-connection.
