Ashley Flowers

aka Śaṅkarī

Portland, ME, US

I teach yoga with deep roots and wide-open doors. My classes are playful, unexpected, and designed to help people come as they are, know themselves more deeply, and carry that awareness into how they live in the world.

Based in Portland, Maine, Ashley Flowers is known for creating imaginative yoga experiences in unexpected places—from parks and farms to pools and paddleboards.

Drawing from a broad range of yoga traditions, Ashley believes each class should be a unique response to the people, place, and moment in time. Her classes are playful, thoughtful, and grounded in the idea that yoga can help us pay closer attention to our bodies, our minds, and the way we move through the world.

Her work also extends beyond the mat through local collaborations that support the community, reflecting her belief that yoga is not simply something we practice, but something we live.
