Alignment-based teacher, practitioner and studio owner with 30+ years of training and teaching experience. Leads 200 and 300 hour trainings, workshops, and retreats. Emphasis includes mindful practice, healing somatics, stability for flexibility, restorative, and therapeutics.
Cara Chang Mutert, E-RYT-500, CYT, is owner/director of The Yoga Lounge RYS 200-300, which she founded in 2004. Cara’s teaching style is Iyengar alignment based, gentle, meditative, flowing and therapeutic in nature. After more than 30 years of study, practice, and training, she has earned two 500-hour advanced certifications. Her first in 2010 from Prairie Yoga, studying with Lori Gaspar, and her second from Prajna Yoga, with Tias Little. She earned her original 200-hr. certification with Kim Schwartz through the Temple of Kriya Yoga, Chicago. Cara also wrote and created the first credited yoga courses at McHenry County College, and has served as adjunct faculty since 2007.
Cara currently teaches weekly classes, various special workshops, 200 and 500 hour yoga teacher trainings. and private sessions focusing on therapeutics and specific individual needs.
