JP Centre Yoga

Yoga Teacher with 20+ Years of Teaching Experience • Co-Founder of JP Centre Yoga, a Boston based Yoga Studio (est. 2012)

I was first introduced to yogic philosophy while spending time in India as a teenager. Born and raised in Jerusalem, I left in my early twenties to travel East in search of greater perspective. In 2001 I began practicing meditation and yoga. These practices have supported me ever since and opened the path to serving others.

My travels eventually brought me to the United States in 2003 to study holistic health. During this time I became certified as a shiatsu practitioner, massage therapist, and nutrition and health counselor, and I began teaching yoga in 2005. In 2012 I co-founded JP Centre Yoga with Sejal Shah with the vision of creating a community-based space where individuals can turn inward and cultivate the conditions for personal and collective healing.

My teaching is shaped by many schools of vinyasa, my ongoing studies in the Iyengar tradition since 2015, and a grounding in yogic philosophy rooted in Non-Dual teachings. I share the practice with reverence for its South Asian heritage, honoring the communities who have preserved and carried these traditions for thousands of years.

What to Expect in My Classes
My classes are dynamic and alignment-focused, offering students tools to organize the body for longevity and deeper body-mind awareness. This approach integrates breathwork and nervous system regulation while leaving space for intuitive exploration so that each student can adapt the practice in ways that feel most nourishing. With awareness of the intersectionality each person carries, I strive to create an inclusive and welcoming environment through intentional language and multiple variations of postures to meet diverse bodies and needs.

Current influences

I enjoy learning from a wide range of yoga lineages, both traditional and contemporary. My long-standing love is vinyasa flow, paired with the precision of Iyengar yoga, which I have studied for the past decade. My teaching is rooted in helping people feel at ease in their bodies and experience moments of clarity and presence. I draw inspiration from non-dual yogic teachings, which remind us that our practice can dissolve separation and connect us to a deeper sense of wholeness. I am passionate about serving my communities - both locally in Jamaica Plain, the neighborhood I live in and love, and globally in Dzaleka Refugee Camp in Malawi, where I teach and support a yoga program within the camp.
