Datza is a movement and empowerment mentor, yoga teacher, and the founder of Datza Studios, a plant-filled, non-heated yoga studio in Seattle’s Eastlake neighborhood since 2018. Her mission is simple: to help you feel better in body, mind, and spirit, and to give you the tools to keep feeling better on your own.

For Datza, yoga is a lifelong journey and a daily ritual: a path of liberation (moksha), presence, and realness. She believes we all need something different at different stages of life. There is no one-size-fits-all formula, no green juice every day. Some seasons ask for rest, others for fire. Doing the same thing over and over, nothing changes. New movement creates new pathways, in the body and in the brain. Body, mind, and soul are one, and practice is where they meet.

Born in Riga, Latvia, Datza grew up in the small town of Tukums, dancing Latvian folk dance and running track and field. Movement was how she expressed herself and how she stayed grounded. Life later carried her to New York and then to Seattle. Yoga teacher training came during a season of postpartum depression. It helped her find her way back to herself and her voice again, the voice she teaches with today.

Datza’s yoga classes blend tradition with edge: sometimes slow and restorative, other times fiery and challenging, always guided by presence. She has a sharp eye for alignment and notices the details, like where your pelvis sits or whether a heel has lifted. But she won’t adjust you every time. Her goal is for you to learn to feel and adjust yourself, so the practice becomes truly yours.

She tells it like it is. A little mystical, a little wild, always soulful, and always real, her guidance invites you into the different layers of yourself, the light and the shadow, again and again.
