Yoga student of over 20 years, Yoga teacher of over 9 years, and founder of DivineSense sharing Yoga Therapy, Raja Yoga, and Hatha Yoga teachings in the Baltimore, Maryland region.
Dea Lott is a yoga practitioner of over 20 years and Yoga teacher of more than 9 years sharing teachings in Yoga Therapy (Mohan-Krishnamacharya), Raja Yoga (Satchidananda), and Hatha Yoga (Ashtanga). She is also a certified mental health first aider, certified facilitative mediator, and licensed attorney (presently inactive).
Dea first learned ancestral healing philosophy and practices in the Black Ancestral Tradition from her family who used these practices to care for her, sustain themselves, and thrive for generations. With this foundation, she began her exploration, personal practice, and professional study of other indigenous healing traditions - including Classical Yoga and Ayurveda - more than twenty years ago.
Before founding her wellness consulting firm, DivineSense, Dea spent over a decade working alongside under-resourced and oppressed communities as a trial attorney, federal and state government attorney, law professor, legal supervisor and trainer, and grassroots organizer in Indianapolis, IN and Washington, DC.
Dea’s work through DivineSense is founded on the wisdom of ancestral healing philosophies, supported by scientific research on complementary and alternative medicine, and guided by social change practices. Dea has a particular interest in and studies the spiritual foundations of social change movements.
Through her personal practice of the Black Ancestral Traditions and Classical Yoga, Dea continues to experience relief from physical and mental distress, comfort during life challenges, a spiritual understanding of life, and a deep sense of peace.
