Bio

Desirae Pierce is a yoga educator, movement specialist, and author with over twenty-five years of experience teaching students of all ages and abilities. She is the founder of Breath and Body Yoga in Austin, Texas, a studio she led for nearly two decades, where she worked extensively with long-term practitioners, athletes, caregivers, and individuals navigating injury, aging, and neurological conditions. Her work bridges traditional yoga with biomechanics, breathwork, and functional strength, informed by thousands of hours of hands-on private sessions.

Desirae’s teaching philosophy was shaped not by trends, but by close observation of how bodies change over time—often revealing misalignment, instability, or loss of confidence long before a formal diagnosis appears. This perspective led her to develop a clear, accessible methodology centered on alignment principles, breath-led movement, and integration, designed to restore trust in the body and build sustainable strength.

In addition to her teaching work, Desirae is deeply involved in community service and education, and mentors teachers in how to teach with precision, care, and clarity. Her writing focuses on redefining strength as something that can be restored at any stage of life, offering practical tools for individuals, families, and caregivers seeking a safe and intelligent place to begin.
