Current influences

Dulce's yoga teaching practice is deeply shaped by her extensive background in professional dance and personal journey toward wellness and healing. Rather than drawing from a single lineage, her teaching philosophy is a multifaceted fusion of diverse yoga styles, somatic movement and community arts activism. Her foundational pillars include her academic training from Temple and Loyola Marymount Universities in Dance. Yoga is a natural transition complementing her strong physical and spatial knowledge of the human body. Her training in non-western traditions infuses her yoga sequences with unique, cultural, & rhythmic dimensions. She credits her formative yoga practice to all her teachers at Center for Yoga who have exposed her to an eclectic array of yoga styles and masters. She thanks her first teachers Jeanne Heileman & Susan Priver, among many, and Kyra Haglund for deepening her yoga teaching by adding a layer of belief that yoga can be one's personal sanctuary for emotional recovery and mental clarity.
