Bio

Liz Smith is the owner and founder of Serendipity Yoga & Wellness, a community-centered studio devoted to mindful movement, nervous system care, and whole-person well-being. With over a decade of experience teaching yoga and more than ten years working as an elementary educator, Liz brings a rare blend of pedagogical skill, emotional intelligence, and embodied wisdom to her work.

Before opening Serendipity in 2016, Liz spent ten years in public education, developing curriculum, supporting diverse learners, and creating inclusive, student-centered environments. This foundation continues to shape her teaching style today, making her classes accessible, thoughtful, and deeply attuned to the needs of different bodies, life stages, and nervous systems.

Liz teaches yoga, meditation, and mindfulness to children, teens, adults, and educators, and is especially passionate about supporting people through transitions, burnout, and overwhelm. Her approach is rooted in the belief that healing happens when we slow down, listen inward, and reconnect with the rhythms of our bodies and lives. She integrates yoga asana, meditation, breathwork, Reiki, and Ayurvedic wisdom to help students feel more grounded, resilient, and at ease.

In addition to teaching classes and workshops, Liz mentors new yoga teachers, leads local and international retreats, and collaborates with schools and community organizations to bring mindfulness and movement to broader communities. She is currently completing advanced studies in Ayurvedic health counseling, further deepening her work with digestion, hormonal balance, and nervous system support.

At the heart of Liz’s teaching is a love for community, curiosity, and presence. She believes yoga is not about achieving a shape or fixing ourselves, but about learning how to stay connected to what is real, honest, and alive within us. Her classes are known for being grounding, welcoming, and quietly transformative — a place to arrive back home to ourselves.
