Gita Kali Natarajan has dedicated her life to helping others heal and grow, embodying the spirit of service in every chapter of her incredible journey. From her early days of volunteering on service trips as a child to earning a bachelor’s degree in social work, and now her master’s in acupuncture, her heart has always been guided by the desire to uplift and support those around her.
Her path took a profound turn when she faced a personal health crisis with undiagnosed Lyme disease in her early twenties. It was then that yoga became her lifeline, guiding her to wellness and focusing her passion for service. Over the years, Gita has immersed herself in the wisdom of ancient practices, studying with revered gurus in India, living in an ashram in the United States for 7 years, and continually seeking new tools to help others heal.
With 24 years of experience teaching yoga and 13 years sharing the devotional music of kirtan, Gita’s offerings are infused with love, devotion, and authenticity. As a Reiki Master, Hindu priest (pujari), and licensed acupuncturist, she beautifully integrates these diverse modalities, creating personalized pathways for healing, connection, and self-discovery. Her approach invites individuals not just to heal, but to open their hearts, find joy, find community, and connect with the Divine. She can do yoga with anyone who wants to, having worked with children with special needs for years, to professional athletes. When it comes to yoga, her passion lies in teaching yoga philosophy, yoga lifestyle, mantra and yoga teacher trainings. She has created BE yoga yurt and community, the DC Kirtan Fest, ran a temple at an Ashram in VA, currently works with Kula Kamala ashram in PA, and is always finding a way to serve others.
Beyond her professional life, Gita takes great joy in being a mother to her two children and nurturing a loving partnership with Jeff, who shares her vision for Bhakti Spirit’s thriving community. She finds inspiration in na
