Teacher doesn't have an intro yet
I'm a Certified Yoga Teacher/Trainer (EYT500) in the Washington, DC metro area, and a Certified Brain Longevity® Specialist through the Alzheimer’s Research and Prevention Foundation (ARPF). I teach classes at Thrive Yoga in Rockville, Maryland and at the Ben Gaither Senior Center. I sit on the Education Advisory Council for ARPF. I've completed the Integrated Yoga for Seniors program at Duke University, received multiple yoga therapy certifications for back pain and conditions (under Loren Fishman and Rachel Krentzman, to name a few), trained in somatic breath and movement under Jo Kemp, and received a certification for Level One Sound Healing from Thrive Yoga.
I founded Sarasvate (sar-as-vah-te´) in 2012 in honor of my mother Sarah, whom I lost to Alzheimer’s —a company whose mission is to prevent memory related diseases like Alzheimer’s and help those already impacted maintain quality of life. I do this through workshops, caregiver training, speaking engagements, and private sessions. I've been has been a featured speaker at conferences by the Smithsonian Associates (Yoga as Lifestyle Medicine), Aging Life Care Association, Palliative Care Conference, and the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America and have conducted workshops and trainings at Yogaville, and at yoga studios, senior living communities, and corporate offices along the east coast.
