Jessie is passionate about using yoga-cultivated tools off the mat.

In 2013 she graduated from Alex Pfeiffer’s 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training: 21st Century Yoga on the Mat. In addition she has studied yoga with Dough Keller (32 hour Yoga Therapy Intensive Training in 2012) , Andrea Ram, Katie Silcox, Larry Terkle, and her parents Matt Lerner and Gennie Tierney.

She grew up in Hudson, Ohio and has a strong connection to the home site of the Spiritual Life Society -- the Old Church on The Green --from attending preschool, temple, and yoga classes there.

She graduated from UW-Madison with a degree in Zoology and Psychology.

Jessie was part of the Main Street Yoga Center-Madison launch team in 2022 and now practices and emergency subs (well at least on the list!) at her home studio. She is thrilled to have introduced Alex and Matt during her YTT and is proud to be a lifelong learner of yoga.

She brings twelve years of non-profit experience in program development, sustainability and environmental education, event planning, strategic planning, fundraising, organizational collaboration, and leadership to the SLS board. Six of these years she was the executive director of a sustainability non-profit in Madison, Wisconsin and was pleasantly surprised that her YTT proved valuable in her leadership role. A decade later, she again found her YTT education valuable as she navigated her preventative BRCA2+ health journey. She is currently raising her two young children and writing her forthcoming memoir.
