Johanna L. Baldino is a dedicated yoga instructor with a passion for holistic healing and mindful movement. She completed her yoga teacher training in Bali, Indonesia, in 2022 where we spent 2 months immersing herself in the cultures and came back specializing in Ashtanga, Yin, Hatha, and Restorative yoga.

Originally from New York, she relocated to California in 2015 to be closer to her sister and her family. Now based in Sacramento and Vacaville, she is a proud cat mom to two beloved feline companions—Toulouse, a Maine Coon, and Loki, a Russian Blue.

Currently, she teaches at five local yoga studios, offering a range of classes and workshops. Her signature Yoga for Migraines workshop, inspired by her personal healing journey, is hosted at select studios, alongside her newest workshop, Yoga for Divorce, launching at Summer Moon in Curtis Park and Yoga Yolo in Woodland CA. In addition to studio classes, she provides private lessons and leads themed yoga events at local wineries, breweries and hotels incorporating concepts like the Ashtanga Eight Limbs, the Laws of the Universe, Chakra Alignment, and Moon Phases to support sleep, stress management, posture, circulation, flexibility, and mental well-being.

Having suffered from chronic migraines since age eight due to a head injury, she struggled for years with little relief. It wasn’t until she began studying and practicing yoga in 2020 that she experienced a profound shift—her migraines stopped entirely. This transformation inspired her to develop a specialized course aimed at helping fellow migraine sufferers find relief through yoga and mindfulness.

Her work in the yoga industry has always been driven by a vision: To create transformative retreat experiences that elevate health, wellness, mindfulness, peace & relaxation to en entirely new level.

With a deep commitment to sharing the healing power of yoga, Johanna continues to inspire and support others on their wellness journeys.

Current influences

My practice continues to evolve under the guidance of my mentor Gwen Ferreira, whose Ashtanga teachings have deeply shaped both my discipline and devotion. I’m inspired by the wisdom of Gregor Maehle and B.K.S. Iyengar, whose writings remind me that yoga is both a science of the body and a language of the soul. As a plant-based practitioner, I draw endless influence from the earth herself — her quiet intelligence, her cycles, her compassion. My classes often flow with the rhythm of moon phases, zodiac seasons, and universal laws, reflecting how nature and the cosmos mirror our own inner landscapes. Whether exploring anatomy or energy, I aim to guide students toward a deeper harmony between self, spirit, and the living world.
