Sw. Karma Karuna is a IAYT Yoga Therapist, Somatic Trauma Therapist and writer trained in the Bihar School of Yoga lineage with 30 plus years of experience, specialising in Yoga Nidra, Nervous System Balance, Women's Health, Yoga Psychology and daily life applications.
Swami Karma Karuna Saraswati is an IAYT-certified Yoga Therapist, Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapist, writer and educator with over 30 years of dedicated experience in yoga, meditation and therapeutic practice.
Trained in the Bihar School of Yoga lineage across Nepal, India and Australia, she returns annually to deepen her practice under the mentorship of Swami Niranjanananda and Swami Satyasangananda at Rikhia Peeth, including the honour of leading Sadhana courses there. She is certified by Yoga Alliance and serves as a senior teacher and council member of Yoga New Zealand.
Her specialties include Yoga Nidra, Restorative Yoga, Pranayama, the Nervous System, Women's Health, Chakras and Yoga Psychology. Holding a BA in Interpersonal Communications with a minor in Psychology, she brings a grounded understanding of human behaviour to her teaching — blending time-honoured yogic practice with insights from modern psychology and brain science.
As co-founder and director of Anahata Yoga Retreat in New Zealand's Golden Bay, she travels internationally to lead workshops, retreats and yoga teacher trainings. She offers personalised one-to-one yoga therapy sessions and is the creator of guided Yoga, Pranayama, Yoga Nidra and Meditation recordings available at www.anahata-retreat.org.nz.
