A certified yoga therapist (C-IAYT) with a Bachelor of Science degree, studies in Exercise Science and a background in the Physical Therapy field, Kristen blends Eastern philosophy with Western science to offer a grounded, compassionate, and intelligent approach to nervous system regulation, pain relief, and whole-person healing. She is also a certified Anusara® Inspired teacher, having completed both the 200-hour and 500-hour Anusara Yoga Teacher Trainings.
Kristen is a Level II Reiki practitioner, a DONA-trained birth doula, and is certified in both prenatal and children's yoga. Her sessions often incorporate energy work—what she lovingly calls “light work”—bringing a subtle, intuitive layer of healing into her offerings. This multidimensional approach supports clients and students in accessing deeper states of ease, connection, and transformation.
Her school, Joyful Pose Yoga, based in the area of Spokane, Washington, offers yoga teacher training and yoga therapy for curious beginners, dedicated practitioners, healthcare professionals, and aspiring teachers—welcoming anyone seeking depth and authenticity without rigid doctrines, trademark restrictions, or licensing barriers.
Whether you're looking to deepen your personal practice, support your healing journey, or step into the role of teacher, Kristen’s programs provide a nurturing, empowering path rooted in both tradition and innovation.
