Down with the dogma - yoga is life! As a mom, wife, friend and enthusiastic edu-carer, I bring a practical, playful and deep sincerity to my teachings. I deliver the path of yoga in an approachable manner so folks can realize that yoga is an ocean they can swim in for life.

Kristie is a dedicated yoga professional whose work blends classical teachings with modern creativity. As a householder yogini with children, a husband, furry companions, a growing backyard food forest, and a career that is expanding in the yoga industry, she found she needed an engaged yoga that was applicable to her every day needs. Her signature style, The Yoga Approach, offers this to others. This approach is not a new yoga, but an old one re-packaged and delivered in a way that is accessible to all - not scary, not dogmatic, not for the elite or the bendy - but for everyone, at every age, because YOGA IS LIFE! Her methodology brings a birds-eye-view that helps students see the bigger picture. Her credentials include a BS in Education, Kripalu 200-RYT (2011), Asheville Yoga Center 500-RYT(2013), Children’s Yoga (2015), Trauma-Informed Yoga (2017-19), Reiki I + II (2015) Mindfulness (2016), Ayurveda (2021), Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy (2024) and is currently working on a dual certification for Neurogenic Yoga and TRE (tremor + trauma releasing).

Having been introduced to a vibrant community of yoga at the age of four, she rebelled against it during her teenage years, and found her way back in early adulthood where yoga became a vital tool for her recovery from disordered eating and other methods of self-destruction. She draws valuable insight for her students from decades living, testing, doubting and finally embracing the principles of yoga. She recalls a time when yoga felt too foreign and complex to understand and brings that experience to her teachings.

Whether leading a class in a studio, hospital or treatment facility, facilitating a yoga and travel retreat, guiding a group of teachers in training, or managing her household responsibilities, Kristie brings a rare blend of depth and accessibility to her work. Her intention is always the same: to help others authentically step into the ever-present now and the wisdom that exists within them.
