Michelle Young, C-IAYT, M.Ed, is a senior yoga therapist, educator, and curriculum developer with 22 years of experience in education and a sustained, immersive relationship to both teaching and personal practice. She began teaching yoga in 2004 and has since dedicated her professional life to the study, application, and transmission of yoga as an embodied, experiential discipline.

Over the course of her career, Michelle has accumulated more than 30,000 hours of direct teaching and educational delivery, including private yoga therapy sessions, group classes, advanced trainings, mentorship, and continuing education programs. This includes approximately 31,000 documented teaching hours over the past twelve years alone, delivered consistently across therapeutic, educational, and professional training contexts. Her depth of experience allows her to assess students quickly and accurately, adapt practices with precision, and support long-term development rather than short-term outcomes.

Michelle is a Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT) and holds a Master’s degree in Education with a focus on Curriculum Design. Her academic training informs a rigorous, learner-centered approach to education, emphasizing clear learning objectives, experiential pedagogy, assessment-based progression (krama), and integration over memorization or performance. She is known for designing comprehensive curricula that translate complex yogic frameworks into accessible, applied learning experiences while maintaining fidelity to traditional sources.

Her work is further shaped by specialized training in Somatic Experiencing, Ayurveda, nutrition, meditation, and mindfulness, which allows her to address nervous system regulation, trauma-informed care, and whole-person health with nuance and skill. These modalities are not treated as add-ons, but are woven into her teaching and therapeutic work in a way that supports embodied awareness, discernment, and self-agency.
