Pamela has been teaching and studying alignment-based yoga for more than 50 years. She is a certified Yoga Therapist with the International Association of Yoga Therapists, a 500-hour master yoga teacher from the Himalayan Institute and registered through Yoga Alliance. She also holds specialized training to work with those diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Her unique style of yoga, meditation, and wellness incorporates yoga poses called asanas, pranayama, the science of breathing and meditation with breath awareness.
Specializing in health-related issues, Pamela, integrates a number of traditional yoga styles and therapeutic solutions into classes. She is known for a relaxed style, without sacrificing authentic practice. Students release into relaxation by working with the subtle and gross energies, finding inner calm, space, and a deep sense of self-awareness.
Pamela started practicing yoga as an adolescent, in her 10th grade gym class. Yoga helped with self-esteem, body image issues, and emotional pain and suffering from a family mental health situation. The yoga mat has been and is a source of therapeutic healing from injury, everyday stresses, and a great mental health support to stay present in life.
Earning a Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania in 1981, Pamela worked as a trauma and medical rehabilitation social worker for 25 years in the field of spinal cord and brain injury.
She offers weekly classes, yoga therapy sessions, wellness coaching, mentoring, and CEU’s for yoga teachers. Community and corporate workshops are offered on a wide range of topics including but not limited to proper breathing techniques, meditation, stress management, ergonomics, and overall health and wellness. She taught yoga as an adjunct instructor for the health education and sports management department at the UW Parkside for 20 years. Pamela continues to study and practice at the Himalayan Institute, her spiritual home.
