Shaelyn McLain, PhD, RYT 200
Shaelyn is an international yoga teacher, mindfulness-based leadership practitioner, and sound healer with over 12 years of experience in the wellness field. Her classes, influenced by the Dynamic Release Method™, are rooted in Hatha Vinyasa and emphasize nervous system repair, myofascial release, intentional alignment, and the mind-body connection. She is also trained in restorative, yin, and trauma-informed yoga practices.
In addition to being a certified yoga teacher, Shaelyn holds both a PhD and Master’s degree in Mind-Body Medicine from Saybrook University, where she also serves as a graduate professor and core faculty member in the College of Integrative Medicine and Health Sciences. Her career centers on integrating academic scholarship with experiential mind-body practices, designing and teaching evidence-based curriculum, mentoring emerging leaders, and facilitating transformative, trauma-informed experiences that foster integrative wellness in mind, body, and spirit. Shaelyn brings the same depth and integrity to the mat as she does to the classroom, blending evidence-based practices with embodied wisdom.
Passionate about creative expression, trauma-informed healing, and integrative modalities, Shaelyn guides students toward deeper embodiment and authentic connection. As a wellness coach, professionally trained facilitator, and somatic meditation teacher, she leads transformational experiences that weave together meditation, sound, and evidence-based mind-body therapies to support spiritual insight, resilience, and overall well-being.
