Sri Dharma Mittra (1939–2019) was a celebrated Brazilian-born yoga master, known as "the Teacher's Teacher," who established the Dharma Yoga Center in New York City. After serving in the Brazilian Air Force, he moved to New York in 1964 to study under Sri Swami Kailashananda (Yogi Gupta), becoming a full-time yogi before founding his own center in 1975. Mittra is revered for his creation of the Master Yoga Chart of 908 Postures, the book ASANAS: 608 Yoga Poses, and for spreading traditional yoga through classes, workshops, and the Life of a Yogi teacher training program.
