Sundari Birdsall
New Haven, CT, US

A violinist turned yoga teacher, Sundari uses breathwork and meditation to ease performance anxiety and embrace non-striving — welcoming students of all levels to find ease and practice mindfulness on the mat.

Sundari Birdsall is a violinist, wellness advocate, and yoga teacher whose path to the mat was paved by a lifelong pursuit of presence over performance. Drawing on decades as a classical musician and her current career in social work, she understands deeply what it means to carry the weight of expectation - and the quiet liberation that comes from finally setting it down. Since 2007, her yoga practice has been a refuge from performance anxiety and a doorway into non-striving, and it is that lived experience she brings to every class. She began her teaching journey in 2014.

Sundari's approach is rooted in the belief that yoga is not something to be taught, but something to be shared. She does not stand at the front of the room as an authority, she steps onto the mat as a fellow traveler, curious and open. Her classes weave breathwork, meditation, and mindful movement into an invitation for every participant, at every level, to trust and to follow their inner wisdom.
