Taylor Outram
New Albany, IN, US

Hatha yoga teacher based in Southern Indiana that focuses on using props and modifications for optimal alignment, and teaches something beyond the poses in every class.

Taylor began her yoga practice in 2018 after discovering Element Yoga (formerly Inner Spring Yoga). Although she had always been drawn to teaching, a last-minute opportunity to sub a class confirmed that calling- one class in, and she knew she was meant to teach.

Taylor completed her 200-Hour Teacher Training at Element Yoga and Āyurvedic Wellness in 2022. She draws continuous inspiration from her mentor, Carrie Klaus, E-RYT 500, AYC CYT Level 3, and Certified Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist, and from the entire Element teaching community. She has also expanded her alignment knowledge through workshops with Desiree Rumbaugh, and hands-on-assists knowledge with Michael Johnson.

As a teacher, Taylor values adaptability, accessibility, and self-inquiry. Her experience rehabbing a degenerative disc has shaped the way she approaches practice- she enthusiastically offers modifications, variations, and prop support so students can discover what feels best in their own bodies. Her classes blend clear, intentional cueing with grounding philosophical themes that encourage students to look inward and move with purpose.

Outside the studio, Taylor cherishes time with friends, family, and her beloved cats. She’s recently engaged and joyfully navigating this new chapter of life. She also loves reading (mostly fiction), traveling, live music, and camping whenever she can.
