What to expect
This 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training is offered in a hybrid format combining in-person training weekends, live Zoom sessions, prerecorded video lectures, independent study, observation hours, and hands-on teaching practice.
Trainees will progress through the following areas of study and practice:
Yoga Foundations & Philosophy: Explore yoga history, philosophy, ethics, mindfulness, meditation, pranayama, and how these traditions apply to modern yoga practice and teaching.
Anatomy, Alignment & Safe Movement: Study anatomy, physiology, body mechanics, alignment, modifications, contraindications, and how to adapt poses for different bodies, experience levels, and physical needs.
Sequencing, Class Planning & Teaching Methodology: Learn to create safe, balanced Vinyasa classes from gentle to power styles while developing effective cueing, demonstration, communication, class management, and an authentic teaching style.
Hands-On Practice & Teaching Experience: Practice adjusting and assisting, teach short sequences in small groups, observe experienced instructors, receive feedback, and gradually build the confidence and skills needed to lead a complete class.
Hybrid Coursework & Final Practicum: Complete prerecorded lectures, readings, independent study, weekly live Zoom discussions, four in-person training weekends, observation hours, a 60-minute teaching practicum, self-evaluation, and open-book written exam.
Throughout the training, students will move gradually from learning and observing to practicing, teaching short sequences, and ultimately leading a full yoga class.

This 200-hour hybrid Yoga Teacher Training combines in-person weekends, live Zoom sessions, prerecorded lectures, independent study, observation hours, and teaching practice. Graduates who complete all requirements receive a Certificate of Completion and are eligible to register with AYC. Training prepares students to teach Vinyasa yoga in studio, fitness, community, and private settings.
