Myofascia 101
Roll, Release & Restore
Who this is for
This workshop is for yoga students, teachers and anyone interested in improving mobility, body awareness and recovery. No prior experience with myofascial release is required. Yoga teachers will gain a clearer understanding of fascia and practical ways to safely incorporate simple release techniques into classes or personal practice.
Benefits
Students will learn the basic role of fascia in movement, mobility and tension while experiencing practical self-myofascial release techniques. The workshop combines education, gentle yoga and targeted rolling to help participants improve body awareness and explore ways to reduce feelings of tightness. Teachers will gain techniques they can apply in class.
What to expect
Fascia 101: Learn what fascia is, how it supports and connects the body, and how it relates to movement, mobility, tension and overall body awareness.
Understanding Myofascial Release: Explore the basic principles behind self-myofascial release, including pressure, pacing, breathing and how to work safely without forcing or creating unnecessary discomfort.
Roll & Release Practice: Use therapy balls and simple self-massage techniques to explore common areas of tension such as the feet, hips, glutes, shoulders and upper back.
Gentle Yoga & Mobility: Integrate slow yoga movements and mobility exercises between release techniques to notice changes in sensation, range of motion and movement quality.
Restore & Integrate: Finish with gentle stretching, grounding and relaxation while reviewing practical ways to incorporate myofascial release into a personal yoga practice or yoga class.
