Purpose

With a maximum of 20 students, we offer a supportive environment for both personal and professional growth. Whether you seek to deepen your personal practice or embark on a teaching path, our unique approach and vibrant community will support you every step of the way.

Upon completion of our course, participants who demonstrate our skill competency and complete 200 hours of classwork, will receive a certification for completion of the curriculum. This will enable you to register with Yoga Alliance as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-300).

  • Anatomy with an emphasis on the ancient wisdom of our bodies.

  • Mudras and their potency.

  • The Social Justice of birthright and wholeness.

  • Pranayama and our vitality and potentiality.

  • Communication – Understanding compassionate Nonviolent ways of Interaction.

  • Ayurvedic Nutrition – the importance of Immunity.

  • Conscious Cooking Sangha – Ayurvedic Cooking classes (on-line).

  • Beauty – is more than skin deep, an Ayurvedic perspective

  • Sacred Ceremonies – connection to our hearts.

This unique program will qualify graduates to register with Yoga Alliance at the RYT-300hr and 500hr level. Our Immersion program is for anyone who has received their 200hr teacher training certification, or if you have a long time practice and sadhana in Yoga, Ayurveda, and other healing modalities without having a 200hr certification please let us know. At times we know a journey like this is for personal transformation, and we are open to all inquiries.

Located in the sacred Andes, our 300-Hour Yoga Teacher Training takes place at Munay Sunqo, a tranquil village between the sacred mountains of Pitisuray and Sawasiray. This 25-day immersion goes beyond asana, guided by the Peruvian Medicine Wheel, offering you a profound opportunity to explore your inner self.

Anatomy, Physiology, Biomechanics
  • Evaluate a described practice for which layer of the pancamaya model it most directly addresses, justifying the choice with specific reasoning.
  • Develop a themed practice built around a chakra and its associated prana vayu, formulating breath and movement choices that reflect both.
  • Evaluate a proposed pose modification for its effect on a specific joint, justifying whether it respects that joint's natural range of motion.
  • Design a short sequence that trains a specific muscle action pattern, formulating pose choices that build strength or awareness in that pattern.
  • Develop a sequence aimed at supporting spinal health for a student with a described postural pattern, formulating pose choices that address the specific imbalance.
  • Assess a facilitated stretching technique for proper sequencing, evaluating whether the contract-relax steps are being applied correctly.
Lifestyle & Ethics
  • Evaluate a described teacher's handling of an ethical scenario, assessing whether their response upheld the stated guidelines.
  • Assess a personal habit for the klesha or antarayah it most closely reflects, evaluating the reasoning behind the match.
  • Construct a personal observance plan built around one yama and one niyama, formulating specific daily practices for each.
  • Develop a set of personal commitments for inclusive, culturally sensitive teaching, formulating language drawn from nonviolent communication principles.
Practice Skills
  • Construct a dosha-based practice plan for a stated constitution, formulating specific asana and pranayama choices suited to that dosha.
  • Develop a short class segment built around one salutation series, formulating a lead-in and closing that support its energetic quality.
  • Develop a personal mantra and japa routine, formulating a structure suited to a stated spiritual intention.
  • Construct a personal meditation routine that draws on more than one technique, formulating a structure suited to ongoing practice.
  • Develop a personal advanced pranayama sequence, formulating an order that moves safely from gentler to more advanced techniques.
Yoga History & Theory
  • Evaluate a personal practice against a concept drawn from the yoga sutras, assessing how closely it reflects that teaching.
  • Assess a personal practice against the eight-limbed path, evaluating which limbs are well developed and which are underdeveloped.
  • Evaluate which of the four paths of yoga best matches a described personality or life situation, justifying the match with specific reasoning.
  • Develop a personal daily and seasonal routine grounded in ayurvedic philosophy, formulating specific practices suited to a stated constitution.

AYC allows each school to state and evaluate the competencies each student acquires. Students rate how well the program delivered them.
