Kathryn Norris is a Certified Somatic Practitioner and integrative yoga and Pilates teacher specializing in therapeutic movement and nervous system care. She supports clients navigating stress, anxiety, chronic pain, and burnout through a client-centered approach that blends movement, mindfulness, breath, and rest.
Kathryn’s work is rooted in trauma-informed care and draws from a wide range of training across somatic psychology, fascia science, Eastern practices, and functional movement. Her teaching honors yoga as a multidimensional path to deeper awareness, resilience, and connection to self.
Her influences include Paul and Suzee Grilley, Yoga Medicine, Jo Phee, Kathy Páez, and Tiffany Cruikshank in fascia-informed Yin and functional anatomy; Manuela Mischke-Reeds, Peter Levine, and Deb Dana in somatic trauma recovery; and Addie deHilster, Deborah Norris, and Aurora Hutchinson in mindfulness and breath-centered awareness.
Kathryn helps students reconnect with their body’s innate intelligence and healing potential through accessible, seasonal practices that center nervous system safety and self-agency. Her classes and private sessions support functional strength, emotional regulation, and replenishing rest, integrating the principles of both movement science and energy-based traditions.
She currently offers therapeutic yoga, Yin & Release workshops, and Somatic Mat Pilates in Chicago and online, with a focus on cyclical wellbeing and sustainable care that honors the interconnectedness of body, mind, and lived experience.
