Bio
Valerie Lucas is an educator, author, and founder of Yoga Teacher Academy™. She is the creator of Neuroscience-Informed Yoga Teaching™, a modern framework advancing the art of student-centered teaching through the lens of readiness, attention, and how learning is actually received in practice.
Formerly a Senior Master Trainer with YogaSix, Valerie has led and developed 200-hour, 300-hour, and specialty teacher trainings nationwide while supporting the growth of teachers across the industry. Her work is dedicated to elevating the standards of yoga education, refining pedagogy, and helping teachers create more effective, inclusive, and meaningful student experiences.
She is the author of Neuroscience-Informed Yoga Teaching: How the Nervous System Shapes Learning, Safety, and Growth
and offers continuing education, consulting, and professional development for teachers, studios, and organizations.
A two-time breast cancer survivor, Valerie brings depth, heart, humor, and humanity to everything she teaches. Her work has been featured in Yoga Journal, Byrdie, GoodRx, and other wellness publications.
