What to expect
Basic Yoga Anatomy Workshop Series
Develop a Clear, Confident Language of the Body
Students learn foundational anatomical and medical terminology, allowing them to communicate more clearly, cue more precisely, and understand the body as an integrated whole—from cells to systems. This shared language builds confidence in both teaching and practice.Understand Structure as the Foundation of Safe Practice
By studying bones, joints, connective tissue, and planes of movement, students gain insight into how the body is designed to move. This knowledge supports safer alignment, smarter sequencing, and injury prevention in yoga postures.Improve Alignment Through Functional Muscle Knowledge
Learning how muscles work—origins, insertions, agonist and antagonist relationships—helps students move beyond memorization into embodied understanding. This allows for more intelligent engagement, stability, and adaptability in poses.Build Stability That Supports the Nervous System
Understanding neuromuscular control and the nervous system reveals how stability, not force, creates safety and ease. A regulated nervous system supports self-healing, resilience, and sustainable practice over time.Deepen Mind–Body Awareness Through the Senses
Exploration of the sensory systems shows how we experience the world through the body. This awareness enhances mindfulness, presence, and sensitivity—both on and off the mat.Enhance Breath Awareness and Energetic Intelligence
Students learn the respiratory system alongside the three main types of yogic breathing, understanding how breath affects physiology, emotions, and mental clarity. This empowers teachers to use pranayama skillfully and intentionally.Support Discernment, Digestion, and Energy Distribution
By studying the digestive and respiratory systems—alongside Ayurvedic principles—students learn how the body discerns, absorbs, and distributes nourishment and energy. This knowledge supports better lifestyle choices and more holistic teaching.Gain a Systems-Based View of Whole-Body Health
Coverage of the cardiovascular, lymphatic, endocrine, urinary, reproductive, and integumentary systems reveals how all systems work together. Students gain a big-picture understanding of circulation, immunity, hormones, and regulation.Understand Injury Patterns and Preventive Care
Learning about common injuries, tissue types, fascia, and healing processes helps students recognize limitations early, modify appropriately, and teach with greater responsibility and compassion.Empower Teaching Rooted in Intelligence, Not Dogma
This anatomy training encourages discernment—knowing what is necessary and what is not. Students leave better equipped to teach from understanding rather than imitation, supporting diverse bodies with clarity and care.
